Ice Bucket Challenge: Tom Cruise Accepts Hugh Jackman's ALS Challenge With 'Mission Impossible 5' Director Chris McQuarrie [VIDEO]
"Mission: Impossible" star Tom Cruise accepted Aussie actor Hugh Jackman's nomination to do the "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge." The 52-year-old actor together with "Mission: Impossible 5" director Chris McQuarrie completed the challenge with eight buckets of ice cold water poured over them.
According to The Guardian report, the cast and crew members of the film "Pan" challenged the "Mission: Impossible" star and crew to do the "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge" to help in raising money and awareness on the Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig's disease. Director Chris McQuarrie explained in the video that the cast and crew of the upcoming film are in different locations so he and Tom Cruise will do an ice bucket challenge enough to represent the entire film crew.
"We didn't want to miss the 24-hour deadline so Tom and I are here to take a hit for the team," McQuarrie stated. Additionally, Tom Cruise stated in the video that they will be making donations to the ALS organization on behalf of the "Mission: Impossible 5" cast and crew.
Then, Tom Cruise and Chris McQuarrie nominated Paramount Film Group President Adam Goodman, Skydance Productions CEO David Ellison and Paramount Studio boss Brad Grey to do the "Ice Bucket Challenge." Have a look at the video below.
The "Mission: Impossible 5" team is now back at work in Vienna, Austria. A Mail Online report revealed that the upcoming film's cast and crew members were spotted in Vienna on Tuesday, Aug. 26. In the captured images, Tom Cruise, director Chris McQuarrie and co-star Simon Pegg can be seen joking around while waiting for their cue.
Simon Pegg wore a black suit but Tom Cruise, who portrays IMF (Impossible Mission Force) Agent Ethan Hunt in the film, was dressed casually while working on their scenes. The captured images also showed the trio turning serious as they discussed the scene to be filmed before accomplishing it in the actual film location. Click HERE to see photos.
"Mission: Impossible 5" will be filming next in London, England. Plot details for the upcoming action spy film are still under wraps.
Joining Simon Pegg (Benji Dunn) and Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt) in "Mission: Impossible 5" are Jeremy Renner (William Brandt) and Alec Baldwin. The film is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on Dec. 25, 2015.
