Director Brad Bird recently revealed some details about "The Incredibles 2," saying that the sequel will focused on the characters.

“We’re trying to keep it focused in the area that our film was, which was a little bit more about characters and relationships and stuff like that, and see where that takes us,” he said to Collider. “I have the story arc. I’m probably three-quarters through the script, first pass through the script, but we’re already boarding parts of it.”

He added that he is working with the same people that he worked with on the original “The Incredibles.” Bird reportedly wants the film to be different from the other superhero films. He said that to compete with more than “400 billion” superhero films the story arc of “The Incredibles 2” has to be unique.

Pixar head John Lasseter has said in his previous interview to Zap2It that Bird has found a “great story” for the “The Incredibles 2.” The plot of the film has not been revealed, and also the production house has yet to announce the release date.

“The Incredibles,” released in 2004, was about a family of superheroes who hide their superpowers and lead a simple life in a suburban household. Mr. Incredible, voiced by Craig T. Nelson, involves his whole family in a battle against the villain and a killer robot.

The film, which premiered at the BFI London Film Festival in 2004, grossed more than $886 million. It was praised by majority of critics and won two Academy Award. Also it won Annie Award For Best Picture and Hugo award for Best Dramatic Presentation. John Walker produced the film and Michael Giacchino supplied the music. The other voice artists of the films included Jason Lee, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Spencer Fox, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Peña and Bird.
