The Witness in more detail

With Sony delving more into indie games this time around with its next-gen PlayStation 4. The Witness is a long in-development game that's slated to have a timed exclusive release on the PS4 as a launch title, reports The Sixth Axis, and creator Jonathan Blow shares a few things about what they want to do with the game.

"The trick is that there's magic in the subject we're exploring, and because the game is not constrained by financial fetters, we were able to find the magic and make it as good as we possibly could," said Jonathan Blow, President of Thekla Inc.

"The game is a multilayered thing. When you go in, if you're just interested in a puzzle game and you're not looking into stories or philosophies, there's a really good puzzle game there. But if you want to read further than that, there are other layers and a provision for deeper engagement."

For the mean time, watch the video, which is Sony's Conversations with Creators to see some graphics from The Witness.

Housemarque preps something for PlayStation 4

As though on a roll with is indie invasion, there has been a report about Housemarque being currently hard at work for a successor to its game Super Stardust.

Eurogamer reports that the game will be a PS4 exclusive, dubbed to be the spiritual successor of the mentioned game. This can mean that the 90s game will either serve as the influence from which the new game will be based on or an even better upgrade to the sequel that hit the PlayStation Vita last year, reports Polygon.

You can also expect that the new features and improved graphics will serve as a great way to enhance the new game, particularly if has the makings of a reboot in the works.

"We are super excited to be working on Sony's next-gen hardware. The platform's performances are enabling us to do things that wouldn't be possible otherwise, and we truly believe that better technology can lead to better gameplay," said Housemarque CEO Illari Kuittinen to Eurogamer. "The more tools and resources we have at our disposal, the better."

Housemarque's projects with Sony don't stop there as another, still unannounced but already planned game for the PlayStation 4 has already been confirmed. It looks like Sony is really making good with its promise of carving an indie game niche for the next generation.
