'Injustice 2': Ed Boon teases 'Shattered Alliance Part 4'
NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon has just teased fans with another "Injustice 2" image about the fourth part of the "Shattered Alliances" mini-series. It focuses on Gorilla Grodd while several images of heroes and villains brawl in the background.
The image posted on Twitter includes the caption "This is NOT the Justice Society," which indicates that the image showed the perspective of Gorilla Grodd. It most likely that the fourth part of the Shattered Alliances will feature Gorilla Grodd.
This the fourth image posted by Boon that serves as a teaser for the Shattered Alliances mini-series. The mini-series will probably have five parts since only one more scene is lacking to complete the entire story.
The previous part uploaded last week told the story of Supergirl and how she fought with Black Adam. It also confirmed that Black Adam will join the 27 confirmed roster for the game.
It also revealed how she managed to escape to Earth with Superman before Krypton was destroyed. The two eventually started working together as they grew up to secure the safety of the people before Superman changed his ways.
'Injustice 2': The Society
The first two parts of the Shattered Alliances mini-series showed how Batman did not agree with Superman's methods of achieving truth and justice. It focused on the two sides until the fourth part revealed what could be another party to the story.
Gorilla Grodd is just the start of the establishment of the Society's power. He will rise up to the occasion so that another threat to mankind would rise again. A threat that can go head-to-head with Superman's regime and Batman's Justice League.
The Society will begin a triangular struggle for power within the Injustice universe. Although Gorilla Grodd will be its foundation, the last part of the mini-series will reveal the real mastermind behind it all, Brainiac.
The game will have a worldwide release on May 16 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will be the official sequel to the first game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us," that was released in 2013.
Like what it did to the previous game, NetherRealm Studios will also develop a companion mobile app for the iOS and Android devices. It will have the same core gameplay mechanics like the original but will introduce new features like the Gear System. The Shattered Alliances mini-series, along with the new set of comics written by Tom Taylor, will set up the main campaign for "Injustice 2."
