Investigation Launched At Johnny Depp’s Film Set Of ‘The Lone Ranger’ After A Crew Member Died [PHOTOS]

An investigation has reportedly been launched after the death on the film set of a crew member in actor Johnny Depp's latest film "The Lone Ranger."

A water safety expert working on the Los Angeles movie set died while working inside a large water tank. Authorities claimed that the crew member was identified to be a 48-year old man named Michael Andrew Bridger from Redondo Beach. The said investigation could take up to six months to conduct.

Even though the coroner's initial report say that Michael Andrew Bridger suffered from a heart attack, an investigation will be held by the workplace safety enforcement agency Cal/Osha to confirm if there was any negligence. Bridger was wearing a scuba gear while cleaning a pool to be used on the film set of "The Lone Ranger" which is in northeast Los Angeles County.

An autopsy would further determine the official cause of death of the crew member and the official will interview the entire cast and crew about Bridger's death. His funeral is currently being planned by his family and friends and they do not blame the production company for his death.

Walt Disney Studios is producing the film that stars actor Johnny Depp as the Lone Ranger's sidekick Tonto. The studio expressed their condolences and said that their thoughts are with Bridger's family, friends and co-workers.

"We regretfully confirm that a Lone Ranger crew member has passed away after being taken to a local hospital. Our full support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this terrible event," a spokesman for Walt Disney Studios said.

The 48-year old welder had worked for movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer for 20 years. Bridger has also worked on the set of "The Pirates of The Caribbean" and became friendly with actor Johnny Depp.

"The Lone Ranger" which stars Johnny Depp as Tonto is due for a theater release on July 2013.
