iPad Air 3 vs iPad Air 2: Specifications, Features, Compared
The Apple iPad Air 3 rumours are suggesting that it will be announced on March 15. It will be launched to replace the iPad Air 2 from 2014. Compared to the predecessor model, the iPad Air 3 is expected to arrive with several new features.
Design And Display
The iPad Air 2 specs include a screen that measures 240 x 169.5 x 6.1 mm. Its successor is expected to be 0.05 mm thicker and 0.1 mm wider, Engadget reported. It is expected to appear like a smaller edition of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Both the tablets feature a 9.7-inch display. The iPad Air 2 supports a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels. The next new Apple tablet, the iPad Air 3, is likely to support a 4K resolution.

Chipset, RAM and Storage
The Apple A8X and 2 GB of RAM are under the hood of the iPad Air 2. It is available in storage choices of 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. The iPad Air 3 is speculated to arrive with Apple A9X SoC and 4 GB of RAM. It is expected to feature the same storage options that are available on iPad Air 2.
Camera and Other Features
The iPad Air 2 has an 8 MP iSight camera and it has a FaceTime camera of 1.2 MP. The iPad Air 3 is expected to feature an enhanced 8 MP iSight camera. It will be coupled with an LED flash. It will continue to sport 2.1 MP FaceTime camera.
The iPad Air 2 has two pairs of speakers, but the iPad Air 3 will reportedly come equipped with four speakers. The upcoming tablet will also come with a Smart Connector that will let users to connect Smart Keyboard. It will also carry support for Apple Pencil stylus.
Battery and Colour Options
There is a 27.3 watt-hour battery inside the iPad Air 2. The iPad Air 3 is expected to feature a smaller battery, but it will be able to deliver the same usage time as its predecessor model, Tech Times reported. Like iPad Air 2, the iPad Air 3 will come in color options like silver, gold and space gray. It is also expected to be available in an additional color of rose gold.
