The developer of the popular Instapaper software speculated that the Apple's iPad Mini will have the same components that of iPad 2.

Creator of Instapaper Marco Arment said that he had found previously-unseen device identifiers in his application's usage statistics: iPad2,5 and iPad 2,6. These numbers are in line with the iPad2,1 through iPad2,4 used to identify various models in the iPad 2 family.

"The much more likely explanation is that iPad2,5 and iPad2,6 are the new 'iPad mini.' If so, this suggests that the iPad Mini is, effectively, an iPad 2," Arment wrote.

Arment said that the screen display of iPad Mini, supposedly 7.85 inches, will not be a so-called "Retina" screen. Instead, it will have 1024x768-pixel resolution. Arment also speculated that iPad Mini will be sold around $249, which many consumers will patronize.

This is seconded by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who claimed that the device will have an ultra-thin screen display. Kuo has a reputation of being correct with his predictions.

One of the possible selling points of the tablet is the usage of "GF Ditto" or GF2 touch screen technology. Kuo claims that the Cupertino-based firm would be the first to market with a touch screen that utilizes this form of display panel.

Apple is expected to release the rumored 7-inch iPad Mini, which is rumored to have 7.3 mm thick, 134.73mm wide, 200.13mm long, and feature a mini dock connector, redesigned speakers, and add a microphone on the backside.

The iPad Mini will feature a rear camera and a front camera for FaceTime. The pixels of shooters are not yet revealed.

According to Mashable, iPad mini will also include "cellular data antenna, the mockup seems to be very thin and features a smaller dock connector just like the next-generation iPhone. " The media outlet also reported that "the unit also seems to have larger speakers near the dock."

Initial rumors claimed that Apple will introduce the new iPad Mini on September 12 along with the latest generation of iPhone. However, new rumors claimed that Apple's smaller tablet will hit the tech market in October.
