iPhone 5 is Coming: Important Things That You Need to Know
Only a few days left on the much awaited iPhone 5 unveiling in the US. The whole tech world is anticipating Apple's every move.
Investors are already betting on the device. If you are one of the consumers planning to buy the latest iPhone, below are some of the things that you should know about the device.
Here are some of the things that you should know about the latest smartphone from Apple:
Apple's Most Important Product
The line of iPhone smartphones is considered as the most important product of Apple bringing in almost half of the company's revenue. For years, it dominated the smartphone market. However, it was reported last quarter that Samsung Galaxy S3 dethroned Apple's handset from the top spot.
Moreover, the smartphone battle intensified with the release of other mobile phones from other manufacturers such as Nokia and Motorola. Thus, the release of iPhone 5 and the device itself is crucial for the Cupertino-based company in order to gain back its glory.
iPhone 5's (Rumored) Features
One of the rumored features of the new iPhone 5 is its 4-inch screen display. Although, its competitors are offering devices with massive screens, Apple boasts in-cell display technology, which integrates the touch sensors directly into the LCD and eliminates the need for a separate layer.
This is also the first iPhone to feature 4G LTE data speeds, again a requisite to stay abreast with the Android competition. One advantage Apple may be able to wield in this department is battery life, as most LTE devices are notoriously short-lived.
Lastly, Apple will also move to a smaller proprietary dock connector, shaking up the third-party accessory market in the process.
When and Where to Buy
The unveiling event is believed to be set on September 12. The device is speculated to go on sale on September 21. The launch happens to be when US carriers have scheduled vacation blackouts for employees. It seemed that the employees will need the strength to handle excited iPhone buyers.
For Australia, it is still unclear when Aussies can start pre-ordering the devices. However, Apple stores in Australia always have the same or close schedule with the US counterparts.
