iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S are Copycats? New Tweets by Nokia Suggests Twitter War!
Nokia UK posted two tweets that seemed to be aimed at the newly launched iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S. Will this mark the beginning of a twitter war unleashed by the smartphone giant?
"Real gangsters don't use gold phones" read one tweet. Fans were quick to pick up the hint that the tweet was aimed at the newly launched iPhone 5S which comes with a gold colour variant.

One user tweeted that Nokia was simply mad because they didn't think of launching a gold colour variant in their own line of smartphones before the iPhone 5S. Another user corrected him by saying that Nokia did indeed try a gold version "way before Apple." The Nokia UK division had earlier posted a picture of the Lumia series of smartphones in different colours. The tweet thanked Apple for the "imitation." So, are the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C colour offerings an imitation of Nokia phones? Some analysts see it more as a publicity stunt. Some analysts also feel that it is an attempt by Nokia's mobile division to stay relevant after the takeover by Microsoft in a market dominated by Apple and Samsung.
The tweets by the Nokia, however, suggest that the company has gained some energy after the Microsoft acquisition. One of the fans tweeted that the company was on "fire" which seems to be in reference to the increased activity of Nokia on social media platforms.
Recently Nokia had tweeted a picture of a Samsung smartphone breaking like a Kit-Kat chocolate. The post was considered to be a humorous take on the upcoming Android 4.4 called KitKat.

Are the tweets part of a well thought out media strategy by Nokia? If so, will the campaign help Nokia better its sales in the coming months?
Analysts believe that the iPhone 5S and the 5C are not popular just because of the colour options they offer to the consumers. Although the colour options have created some buzz in the market.
Repeated leaks of the different colours of the iPhone 5S and the 5C added to the excitement and build up for the main launch event. But ultimately it will be the features on the smartphones that will affect the bottom lines in sales.
