Apple plans to launch the next-generation iPhone on September this year and hopes to bring back the lost market share against Android devices. Here are the 10 new features expected from the next-generation iPhone.

1. OmniVision Camera Chipset

OmniVision revealed the latest and smallest camera chipset which greatly improves front camera by allowing it to deliver full HD video resolution and especially designed for iOS devices. FaceTime app will now enjoy full HD, 60 frames per second and immense details between HDR and low-light shooting.

2. Corning Lotus XT Glass
iPhone 5 featured Corning Gorilla Glass with oleophobic coating to resist both scratches and fingerprint. Rumours pointed out a possible new screen technology of the next-gen iPhone - Corning Lotus XT Glass. A glass made of Indium gallium zinc oxide which is a semiconductor and forty times higher in electron mobility than amorphous silicon which provides higher reaction speed and much smaller pixels for display resolutions higher than HDTV.

3. iOS 7 Version
WWDC in June 10, 2013 will unveil the much awaited iOS 7 version which is going to incorporate the next-gen iPhone, iPad and Mac computers. iOS 7 concept includes Voice Memo, New Contacts app, Enhancement of the Notification Centre and All-new lock screen.

4. Protection
Android phone such as Sony Xperia Z features waterproof and dustproof attributes aside from physical protection against scratches. Fans of the next-gen iPhone are hoping to get a more resilient handset. iPhone 6 concept includes waterproof and dustproof casing combined with Corning Gorilla Glass to create the toughest and fastest iPhone ever.

5. New Camera Power
Leaked documents revealed a possible 13MP camera of the next-gen iPhone and Apple has been reportedly working on the project. NoWhereElse.fr claimed to have documents from the Japanese telecom KDDI, stating the iPhone 5s arrival on July this year and revealed the 13MP new camera.

6. Full Redesign
Apple iOS interface has been same and some critics find it stagnant in comparison to UI of Android OS. iOS 7 may include total revamp of their current UI, icons and additions such as widget-like shortcuts. Moreover, the physical buttons are expected to change such as separate Power key, Sapphire crystal home button and volume rocker.

7. New Hardware Components
Next-gen iPhone has been reported to have new components different from iPhone 5. These new components include Wi-Fi flex cable ribbon, loud-speaker bracket, SIM card tray, ear speaker bracket and vibrating motor assembly. The SIM card will also be thinner than the one currently in use.

8. Several Colour Design
A released report from Macotakara detailed the upcoming iPhone with a low-cost variant and going to be sold in different colours aside from white or black. Once source indicated that the next-gen iPhone will become available in navy, gold orange, white and gray while another source reveal white, pink, green, blue and yellow orange as available colours.

9. New Additional Features
Rumours speculated new additions to the next-gen iPhone and join the trends in latest connectivity. New features such as Near-field communication and Wireless Charging are going to be included aside from 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Speakers of the upcoming iPhone will also have dust-proof and waterproof characteristics.

10. Cutting Edge Technology
The screen will become larger to compete with Samsung Galaxy S4 5-inch screen display. In addition, the screen remains to have Retina display and almost non-bezel screen composition. Other specifications include 13MP rear-camera, 2k display resolution, up to 128GB internal storage, eight-core processor, LTE+ and 2GB of RAM.
