iPhone 5S, Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 super phones are three of the most anticipated mobile phones for the holiday season. It is believed Apple will unveil its new iPhone by late Q3 to early Q4. Samsung will reportedly wait until then to release the Galaxy Note 3. Meanwhile, the Nexus 5 arrival seems to be more uncertain now, as LG dismissed rumours it was working on a follow-up.

"The Nexus 4 was a great success despite the production problems for us and Google. However we do not need such a marketing success again," reads the translated quote from All About Phones. Does this mean Google's Motorola X Phone would turn out to be the Nexus 5, after all? Earlier rumours that Motorola X could launch Android 5 Key Lime Pie remain a possibility.

A new Nexus phone is coming, all right, but it is still a Nexus 4 - only in white variant. This comes as no surprise to many Android sleuths who have been running "insider reports" on the milky handset.

Speculations on the iPhone 5S, meanwhile, is often reported in tandem with the iPhone 6. The 5S is expected to arrive later this year. The latter is believed to be scheduled for mid-2014. That the 5S will run on iOS 7 is frequently blogged, but never confirmed by Apple itself. CEO Tim Cook, however, has hinted the company will be unveiling new iDevices later this year.

Minor tweaks are expected from the iPhone 5S, owing to the fact that the iPhone 4S was not a radical step-up from the iPhone 4. But there are persistent reports that the 5S will be sporting a much improved screen display in order to prepare app developers for a bigger and sharper iPhone 6 screen.

"A 4-inch iPhone 5S would boast 458 pixels-per-inch (ppi), higher than the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One and much higher than the iPhone 5. A iPhone 6 with a 4.8-inch display would still deliver a 382 ppi rating, which would be a boost over the iPhone 5′s 325 ppi rating," speculates gottabemobile.com.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could potentially launch the biggest phablet headlines later this year. Rumours say this large display handset would be fueled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. In contrast, the Galaxy S4 has the less powerful Snapdragon 600 chip. The Note 3 would also sport a 13MP camera that can potentially be more impressive than some point and shoot gadgets today. It is believed the Korean tech giant will hold a grand unveiling of the N3 at the IFA 2013 (Consumer Electronics Unlimited) in Berlin in September.
