Apple may include a larger screen display in iPhone 6 features, according to an analyst.

KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in his latest note that Apple will increase the current screen size of the company's smartphone between 4.5 inches and 5 inches by next year. Kuo said that Apple is getting pressured by competitors offering larger screen display.

Kuo added that Apple will retain the iPhone 5's in-cell touchscreen technology, which allows Apple to include thinner displays.

Kuo is regarded as a credible source of Apple rumours since most of his notes and predictions proved to be true.

This report is not surprising as there have been various indications that Apple is looking to up the screen size of iPhone 6. Early this year, Reuters reported that Apple is exploring larger display sizes for the iPhone, particularly in the 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch "phablet" range. Just this week, the Wall Street Journal reported that Apple was testing displays up to 6-inches in size.

Apple confirmed iPhone 6 release date will happen on September 10. The tech giant already sent out invitations to the members of the press for the launch event. It is speculated that consumers will see the full-fledged iPhone dubbed as iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S as well as the cheaper iPhone 5C.

According to ongoing rumours, iPhone 6 features will highlight the new and improved features of the flagship smartphone such as the faster A7 quad core processor paired with the better iOS 7.

Apple will provide larger storage capacity on its smartphones that is believed to be up to 128GB. The company may also add a new security feature to its devices with the inclusion of fingerprint sensor in the home button as well as a longer battery life.

However, the concrete iPhone 6 features were not confirmed yet by Apple.
