Tech giant Apple is rumoured to unleash four of its most popular devices in September.

Based on the rumours, Apple will release the iPhone 6 and the low cost iPhone 5S as well as the next generation of iPads later this year.

This is supported by Apple's CEO Tim Cook statement that no devices will be released until later this year. "Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can't wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014," Cook said.

Moreover, many analysts claimed that the new iDevices will be released later this year. For example, Japanese tech blog Macotakara, which has a good track record in Apple rumours, claimed that the next generation of iPhones will make their debut later this year.

However, it is highly unlikely that Apple will release all of the aforementioned devices in one event. Based from previous launches, Apple will hold a special event for iPhone and iPad.

Rumour has it that the next iPhone will feature Retina or IGZO screen display, A7 quad core chip processor, iOS 7, 128GB internal storage, 13 mega-pixel camera, and longer battery life. The lack of NFC support on the iPhone 5 was one of the biggest criticisms aimed at Apple's smartphone.

Meanwhile, the cheaper iPhone 5S is rumoured to sport a plastic casing, 4-inch screen display, dual core processor and 8-megapixel camera.

It is initially reported that the new iPhones will be launched in June along with the upgraded iOS. However, other reports stated that the devices will make its debut in September. If rumours proved to be true, the next iPhones will be joined by future iPads.

iPad Mini 2 is speculated to feature a screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Other specs include a more powerful dual core A7 processor and a 7.9 inch screen. It will also feature a 10-hour battery life, a FaceTime HD camera, and an iSight camera with 1080 pixels HD video recording. Apple is also trying to reduce the thickness of the iPad Mini 2 by using the Sharp's IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology in its screens.

The iPad 5, on the other hand, is rumoured to have no bezels, and the whole form factor has been made sleeker. Horowitz believes this design indicates that Apple will be calling on Sharp's IGZO screen technology. Sharp, however, according to Horowitz, has been struggling, and its ability to deliver components on time will play a key role in the release of the next iPad.
