It seems that Apple aims to gain back its dominance in the smartphone market with the release of the rumoured iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S.

The latest rumours claimed that the upcoming Apple smartphones will be released later this year to be sold at the same price. According to rumours, the price of the iPhone 6 will not be dependent on the materials that will be used in making the handsets. The new render showed an iPhone with plastic casing made out of plastic.

It is initially reported that the new iPhones will be launched in June along with the upgraded iOS. However, other reports stated that the devices will make its debut in September.

The Apple chief Tim Cook also dropped several hints that the upcoming iPhone 6 and 5S will be released later this year. Cook said that no new products are to launch before the end of the year.

Cook also subtly dented rumours that the iPhone 5S could launch as early as June. "Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can't wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014."

It seems that the reports on the delayed release date of Apple products proved to be true. A number of analysts claimed that Apple's smartphones are delayed due to "production issues". However, recent reports also claimed that Chinese suppliers already received the components needed in building the iPhones.

Rumour has it that the next iPhone will feature Retina or IGZO screen display, A7 quad core chip processor, iOS 7, 128GB internal storage, 13 mega-pixel camera, and longer battery life. The lack of NFC support on the iPhone 5 was one of the biggest criticisms aimed at Apple's smartphone.

Meanwhile, the cheaper iPhone 5S is rumoured to sport a plastic casing, 4-inch screen display, dual core processor and 8-megapixel camera.

However, Apple did not give an official statement on the rumours surrounding iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S.

Below are some of the rumoured killer features of the upcoming iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S.

Corning Lotus XT Glass with Sharp IGZO Screen Display - It seems that Apple want to give its consumers the best viewing pleasure in their smartphones. The fusion of Corning Lotus XT Glass and Sharp IGZO will give users crisp images and the strength in their screens.

DSLR-like Camera - Amateur and professional photographers will be delighted with the new feature of iPhone 6. The patent shows a system that would allow the iPhone to remotely control other illuminating hardware, which is a similar thing that professional photographers do when taking images with a camera.

Projected Keyboard - YouTube user Sonitdac shows a rendered "iPhone 6" that looks sim, ilar to an iPhone 5. The top and bottom ends of the iPhone are shown snapping off to create a stand for a small degree of elevation. The iPhone rendering then projected a keyboard and trackpad onto the desk in front of the phone, and a functional Mac cinema display onto the wall.

Fingerprint Sensor - It is reported that Apple is planning to include a fingerprint sensor in Apple devices for added security.

Smarter Control Features - A new approved patent from Apple will enable users to operate their devices with mere scratches or tap gesturing. The patent discusses acoustic input devices and basically means that iOS devices could also be used with sound inputs that would be transmitted via the casing that would then correspond with certain functions.
