iPhone 6 Release Date Either In March Or September 2014?
iPhone 6 release date could either be in March or September this year. Previous rumors claimed iPhone 6 release date will be held early this year, most probably in March. March would be a great window for Apple in releasing the new device and climb back up in the first quarter of 2014.
If Apple launch the successor of the iPhone 5S in March, it could help the company to get a good market share. Moreover, the company will have to battle Samsung's upcoming flagship phone - Galaxy S5.
However, according to C-Tech's WeChat account as cited by Cross Map, Apple will release an iPhone with a larger screen, not necessarily the iPhone 6, in May. This device could be in between Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3. The device could arrive in May packing a 5-inch screen display. Under the hood, it will make use of the rumored 20 nm processor, which is the A8 processor or a modified A7 chipset. This suggests that the iPhone 6 will be released in its usual release date in September.
The rumor is backed up by a report from DigiTimes, which received the same tip from an unnamed source from the Apple supply chain. According to its source, Apple will be releasing a 5-inch screen iPhone in May and iPhone 6 in October. However, the report said the CPU will be a 20 nm processor from TSMC and not the A8. However, Samsung will still help out in manufacturing the processor but the Taiwanese company will take over the major bulk.
According to the ongoing rumors, iPhone 6 will sport a larger screen size ranging between 4.8 and 6 inches to enter the phablet category. It will also pack the 64-bit A7 processor, M7 graphics chip and the fingerprint sensor that are first seen in iPhone 5S. But Apple has not confirmed any of these rumors yet.
The latest Apple patents hinted on some iPhone 6 features such as curved, flexible screen display with Liquidmetal and refocusable light camera. Another patent recently awarded to Apple suggested the handset will pack an improved Siri that can be used in searching and tagging photos.
