iPhone 6 Release Date In June At WWDC 2014 With iWatch
iPhone 6 release date is set to happen in June at the annual Worldwide Developers' Conference alongside iWatch, Apple Insider reported.
Chinese Analyst Sun Changxu told Chinese Web site QQ Tech that she anticipates iPhone 6's production to ramp up in May for the preparation of its launch the month after. The handset will most likely be announced at Apple's WWDC.
iPhone 6 is believed to pack a 4.7-inch, 1,136 x 640 pixel display. The analyst added the heavily rumored iPhone phablet with higher resolution and 5.7-inch screen display will follow.
In October, David Hsieh, DisplaySearch vice president, said he expects a 4.7-inch iPhone with a 1,280 x 720 screen resolution. DisplaySearch updated its predictions earlier this month and now expects a full HD screen display.
Meanwhile, iPhone 6 is reported for release with iWatch that will feature 1.52-inch flexible P-OLED displays. Using flexible P-OLED displays would allow Apple to create a curved device that is apt for a watch. However, Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities believed that the device will use the GF2 touchscreen technology found in the iPod nano.
Rumors suggested iPhone 6 will be powered by A8 processor and will run an iOS 8. It is most likely that iPhone 5S' fingerprint sensor will be retained but will be packed with new capabilities. DigiTimes cited industry sources saying TMSC will take the helm in producing the fingerprint sensors for the next Apple's iPhone at 12-inch fab using a 65 nm process in the second quarter of 2014.
Moreover, Apple patents suggested possible specifications that consumers can expect such as curved or flexible screen embedded by durable material called liquidmetal and reinforced by Sapphire glass covering, an improved Siri and gestures control. Apple has not confirmed yet whether these are real iPhone 6 features.
As for the release date, iPhone 6 is bound to arrive in late summer the earliest. Other reports claimed the smartphone will be launched in September.
