It's not even Christmas time but iPhone lovers would surely want to see to rival-killing feature jumps for the rumoured iPhone 6, which according to analysts is most likely slated for a release date between January and March next year.

Said to be of phablet-size, which means its screen size is beyond the iPhone 5's 4-inch viewing window, this upcoming iOS 7 smartphone is touted as the carrier of Apple's major device upgrade for 2014, leaving the design template introduced via the iPhone 5 and will likely sustained by the iPhone 5S.

Today, we've drawn out a list, call it a wishlist, in which six possible features of the iPhone 6 are included, convinced that Apple will deploy them come the monumental D-Day.

A large screen optimised for one-hand use

Reuters reported last week that Apple is toying with the idea of stretching the iPhone's current screen size. It is a toss between 4.7-inch or 5.7-inch, the news agency said, or it could be that the dimensions will be adopted for two different iOS 7-powered smartphones.

The news came as tech experts noted that the beta version of Apple's new mobile OS is being adjusted for bigger screen sizes, not only for iPads but also for an iPhone version with screen wider than that of the iPhone 5. Such observation is in line with earlier hints from Apple CEO Tim Cook that his company will not enter the phablet contest until the so-called technology tradeoffs, specifically the screen size factor, are dealt with effectively.

It appears now that works are underway to resolve this issue and the iPhone 6 screen puzzle pieces seem falling to their proper places.

More powerful CPU and GPU

Apple would issue the iPhone 6 brimming with killer features via the redesigned iOS 7 and to power these capabilities, the handset will need a mighty chip and graphics processor. The CPU could be an A6 or A7 and it will work in tandem with a display engine that will amply support the updated Retina panel on future iPhone iteration, said to deliver 1.5 pixels or more.

Longer-lasting iPhone battery

The chance that Apple will allow the use of extra battery on iPhone by making its back-cover removable is nil so the next best option is for the tech giant to reengineer the handset's power-generator mechanism.

Recent iPhone component leaks suggested that such plan is now being implemented, that the logic board to be used on upcoming devices will be able to accommodate huge battery size. And the likelihood too is iOS 7 will bring in software optimisation, ensure that the iPhone 6's higher battery rating will indeed last much longer than earlier iPhone builds.

Generous internal memory of up to 128GB

To date, all iPhone models are restricted to 64GB with no memory expansion. The standard seems sufficient but many users are demanding more space to store their cherished media files and install as many apps as possible without slowing down the device.

When Apple released the 128GB iPad 4 model earlier this year, the possibility of an iPhone edition with the same storage capacity became an imminent reality. Given the rumoured overflowing features that the iPhone 6 could come with, this handset would likely get this feature - a downright killer one.

The cool factor - personalised home screen plus widget

This could come out as a direct Android copycat but Apple has knack for taking on something and then reinvent to own it. The ability to customise the iPhone home screen and place widgets on it has been a long-standing dream for iOS device users. An earlier iOS 7 render hinted that this might finally take shape this year.

Wireless charging

With a tweak or two, adventurous iPhone 5 users are already enjoying this feature. It's only matter of time before Apple will deliver this capability and allow future iPhone 6 owners to wirelessly charge their phones without the need to go through modification. Rival flagships are offering wireless charging and it only makes sense for Apple to follow suit.
