iPhone 6 Release Soon As Pegatron And Foxconn In Charge Of Production
iPhone 6 release date may be soon as Foxconn and Pegatron are back for the handset production.
According to AFP citing Liberty Times, a Taiwanese publication, Pegatron will manufacture half of iPhone 6 supplies. In the past year, Pegatron developed the iPad Mini and iPhone 5C and Foxconn managed the iPhone 5S supply.
The report did not specifically say which company will take over the half. However, it is most likely that Apple will turn to Foxconn in making the rest of the iPhone 6.
Apple decided to shift the iPhone 5c production to Pegatron in 2013 to avoid risks involved in the supply chain and expand its product lines and prevent potential supply chain disasters. Pegatron will reportedly build a new plant in Kunshan, China to keep up with the demand.
Reports claimed an iPhone phablet starting a new smartphone line will be released in May. The phablet is reported to come with 5.7-inch or bigger screen display but will not feature the upcoming A8 processor but it will be powered by iPhone 5S' 64-bit A7 processor.
These rumors should be treated as a grain of salt until Apple confirmed the official specs and features of iPhone 6. The company remained mum on the ongoing reports but the alleged two new iPhones may be part of Apple's "big plans" this year hinted by company's CEO Tim Cook in his letter to his employees.
Meanwhile, A8 processor and iOS 8 are some of the rumored features of the next iPhone. The TouchID fingerprint sensor will be improved with additional features and capabilities. Apple patents suggested iPhone 6 will pack curved or flexible screen embedded by durable material called Liquidmetal and reinforced by Sapphire glass covering, a refocusable light camera, an improved Siri and gestures control.
