Fresh information coming from Korea Times claims that Samsung will be supplying LG and Apple with the next-generation DRAM chips that will come loaded in their forthcoming flagship devices. LG is rumoured to be working on the LG G4 flagship that is slated for an unveil in April whereas Apple is speculated to roll out an upgraded version of iPhone 6 that came out last year called iPhone 6S. The Cupertino giant is also speculated to roll out the iPhone 7 flagship this year.

Korea Times says that the Samsung has signed with LG and Apple. According to the agreement, Samsung is to provide 100 percent of DRAM chips for LG G4. Also, it states that Samsung will be providing about half of the RAM requirements to Apple for its next iPhone. DRAM is known to deliver two times more the density and I/O performance when compared to DDR3 RAM.

According to Phone Arena, Korea Times has not revealed the type of RAM that will be supplied by Samsung to LG and Apple. However, it states that the South Korean tech giant has already commenced the mast production of DDR4 RAM. Speculations have it that the new high-end RAM is built with 20nm process.

In the recent past, Samsung had announced the high-density ePoP memory. It is nothing but a combo of 3 GB LPDDR3 DRAM and 32 GB of eMMC along with a controller. The new RAM module package occupies less space and allows the manufacturer to use the remaining space for including a larger battery on slimmer smartphones.

Phone Arena feels that the LG G4 and the iPhone 6S will not feature the recently announced combo RAM and eMMC package but would rather feature the DDR4 RAM. Even though the iPhone 6 came with 1 GB RAM, it says that the Cupertino giant will prefer using the DDR4 RAM on its next flagship. As far as LG is concerned, it has already rolled out the LG G Flex 2 with DDR4 RAM. So, there is a huge possibility that LG would feature the advanced DDR4 RAM.
