More than the killer specs and features that Apple will pack with the iPhone 7 on release date, the new contents to come with the device will also be the focus of great attention. Likewise, Apple watchers are raring to know the big sales numbers that the 2015 iPhone will deliver.

Earlier this year, Nintendo revealed its 3-year blueprint of designing contents, that would be games, for the iOS platform. The plan, according to 9to5Mac, calls for the likely release of a Nintendo game, ready to be played on an iPhone and iPad, by the end of 2015.

First Nintendo mobile title on the iPhone 7

If before December 2015 is what Nintendo is gunning for then the first official Nintendo game title on a mobile device will likely be enjoyed on iOS, probably the upcoming iPhone 7. Will it follow that Mario and other classic games that the Japanese console maker had popularised will soon invade the Apple universe?

That might the original plan but Nintendo is keener on creating new titles that are sure-fire hits so the company is taking it slow. So from this point on and up to March 2017, the company envisions to deploy a maximum of five new Nintendo games that iPhone and iPad users will enjoy, 9to5Mac reported.

The gaming giant also revealed that the old and classic Nintendo games will not be on iOS devices anytime soon as these titles, much-loved as they are, “wouldn’t match the play styles of smart devices,” 9to5Mac quoted the Japanese firm as saying. It doesn’t mean, however, that Mario and the gang will not participate in the fun as Nintendo hinted that characters well-loved by fans around the world will star in upcoming game titles.

Most popular and bankable iPhone ever

With exciting contents from Nintendo nearly confirmed to be part of the next iPhone 7, Apple is again looking to fatten its bank accounts, shattering perhaps the records written by the iPhone 6 so far. But what exactly the upcoming iPhone this year must surpass?

According to Apple Insider, two things at least – making the Apple flagship phone even more preferred by consumers and bringing in even more cash hauls. The task is daunting as the Apple-centric site noted that by March 2015, the iPhone holds sway to 42.6 per cent of smartphone owners in the United States alone. And that is a big chunk of the more than 187 million active smartphone users in the US. In Asia, specifically in China, iPhone usage is consistently climbing up due largely to the bigger iPhone 6 and the jumbo iPhone 6 Plus.

Another mark that the next iPhone must top is the cash reserve. Just two months after the 2014 iPhones were issued, Apple saw its extra cash ballooning to $178 billion, Apple Insider said in a separate report. Then at the close of Q1 2015, this hoard spiked up further, reaching a total of mind-boggling $194 billion or more than double that Microsoft, Apple’s former closest rival, is holding in the same period. The amounts of cash racked up by the tech giant in the past 6 months were mostly because of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Yet the iPhone 7 following its release date later this 2015 might just do much better. Nintendo is on its side and the device is definitely stuffed with the killer features, by default part of the upcoming iOS 9. On the hardware side, Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities is firmly convinced that the iPhone this year will be a giant leap from the iPhone 6 in 2014, both in terms of components and design.
