It is supposed to be a slip but Google somehow gave some really hints that the LG Nexus 5 is real and its release date is coming very soon though the specific day remains elusive.

For a brief moment, Google Play Store plastered what clearly appeared as the Nexus 5 priced at $350 for the basic configuration. Basing on previous reports, there would be two models to circulate - the 16GB and the 32GB builds, which should mean that the priced advertised is for the lower space storage.

Another clue that was bared by the accidental posting is the supposed camera prowess of the KitKat-run smartphone with the descriptive line that says: "Capture the everyday and the epic in fresh new ways."

Yet the revelation was short in details though when reviewing the earlier reports, according to Gotta Be Mobile, the tag line seems to point to the rumoured shooting capabilities of the Nexus 5, which are headlined by a 13MP rear lens that is boosted by optical image stabilisation.

Note that these same attributes were first presented by LG with the LG G2, which some confirms the earlier assumption that the G2 and the Nexus 5 are virtual clones.

However, the most interesting information to be gleaned from the Play Store mix up, which Google has immediately pulled down, is when the device will become available.

The fact that the phone was displayed with other Nexus devices seem to suggest that release date is fast approaching and claims varied. Some would say Oct 23, others Oct 28 or first week of November 2013.

Given the wild rumours, it should be safe to point to November as the actual Nexus 5 rollout, with the launch likely to occur in late October. Some quarters believe that Google is positioning its signature phone for wider availability in time for the Black Friday 2013, this year's version of the annual U.S. retail splurge.

So while the availability will not fall on the exact Black Friday, which for this year is Nov 29, it is certain that Nexus 5 will be on shoppers' list on that day. That leads to a mid-November landing for the handset or at least a few weeks before the main event.

And the chance is even high that Google's retail partners will hack down the sticker price of the phone if only to lure in hordes of buyers, which would be made possible if the normally unlocked Nexus 5 is hooked up with a 2-year telco contract.

Such possibility is not too far off as a newly-leaked photo of the device suggests that Canadian network service provider Telus will pick it up come the grand debut time.

Once it is out, the pure Android mobile phone will showcase a 5-inch 1080p screen, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM, an Adreno 330 GPU, a massive battery and LTE connectivity plus possibly the always-on voice command as among its array of killer features.

For now, the definite Nexus 5 release date remains a big question mark though Android fans are upbeat that the countdown begins on Oct 31.
