'iZombie' Episode 4 Recap: Asian Gangs And Detective Clive's Past Revealed Plus Episode 5 Promo Video [Watch]

“iZombie” episode 4 gave the viewers a glimpse of Clive’s past. The rookie detectives tries hard to keep Liv from learning anything about his past and warns her repeatedly to not get involved in the case. The case Liv attempts to solve involves a dangerous Asian gang. [Spoiler alert]

Liv eats the brain of an Asian gang member known as Sammy in “iZombie” episode 4. When detective Clive arrives to see the body, he is shocked to see a face he recognised. He asks Liv not to get involved in the case and just then she gets a vision of Clive beating up a man suspected of being a snitch in a deadly Asian gang called the Blue Cobras.

Liv suspects Clive to be a dirty cop who wants to keep her from discovering the truth. Sammy’s brain makes Liv anxious and a little paranoid. She decides to do a little investigation without informing the young detective. Her visions lead her to a video store, where another vision tells her that the video store is full of Blue Cobras gang members.

Subsequent visions of Liv reveal that Clive is in fact not a bad cop. “iZombie” episode 4 reveals the reason why detective Clive was transferred to the homicide department. The rookie detective was once deep undercover to infiltrate the Blue Cobras gang, but after a year of undercover work no one wanted to work with him.

“iZombie” episode 4 also introduced Liv’s brother Evan Moore, the protagonist manages to keep her secret from him too. Meanwhile Liv’s ex-fiancé is looking for a new roommate. Hoping that his new girlfriend doesn’t move in with him, Liv suggests that her boss Ravi move in with him. Major and Ravi find out that they share a passion for video games and after a brief chat they decide to share the apartment.

Towards the end of the episode Liv takes on the main villain of the episode, the leader of the Blue Cobras named AJ. Her newly acquired kung fu skills and her zombie powers help her to subdue him and get him arrested.

Meanwhile, Blaine is continuing to expand his brain selling business. His two employees, who he turned into zombies, decide to steal his clients by starting a brain selling business themselves. Blaine however finds out about it and replaces his two employees with two other zombies he had stored in a freezer room at a restaurant.

The next episode will focus on the death of girl that occurs after she skydives from a plane with a group of people. It is still unclear if this is a murder, but fingers are being pointed at one of the members of the group who skydived along with the dead girl. The murder suspect can be seen asking whether Liv has a boyfriend in the promo video of “iZombie” episode 5.
