Jackass co-stars, celebrities, MTV staff, pay tribute to Ryan Dunn
MTV execs: "The Jackass brotherhood will never be the same"
The staff and co-stars who treated the fallen Jackass star like a brother released their statements regarding Dunn's unexpected death.
MTV, the channel housing the show where Dunn made his name, expressed their grief and shock in some of their news posts. "We are devastated by the tragic loss of Ryan Dunn - a beloved member of the MTV family for more than a decade" says Van Toffler, MTV's acting president. "He made us all laugh and had the tireless enthusiastic approach to life of your favorite middle school friend" adds the MTV executive in the same news. The "big boss" of MTV ended his statement with a heartfelt message saying "the Jackass brotherhood will never be the same".
Jeff Tremaine and Johnny Knoxville, the producers of Jackass and owners of Dickhouse Entertainment also released their sorrowful statements in their website about Dunn's demise. "I don't really know what to say right now everybody, because the sadness is overwhelming, but today we lost one of our own". Aside from the statement, members of the Jackass cast also posted tributes to their friend and co-star. Dave England and Knoxville respectively Tweeted "I love you Ryan. I'm gonna miss you bad" and "RIP Ryan, I love you buddy. Jason "Wee-Man" Acuna also stated his sadness via the social networking site, describing Dunn as "you were always a happy kick-a-s dude".
Dunn's co-stars weren't the only one deeply saddened by his passing away. Director Sofia Coppola, the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola and Spike Jonze's ex-wife says she is "shocked" and described Dunn as "very nice and energetic". Madden brothers Joel and Benji, good friends of Dunn, say this accident is "very sad news" to them.
Dunn died at approximately 3.a.m. on June 20th morning in West Goshen, Pennsylvania due to a car accident that left him and a companion charred to ashes. His body was recognized through his facial hair and tattoos. Dunn celebrated his 34th birthday last June 11, weeks before his fatal accident last night.
