This week’s episode of “Jane The Virgin” deals with a lot of damage control. On episode 19, Jane is determined to get Rafael back after he broke up with her in the previous episode. Xiomara and Rogelio are trying to take their relationship forward after the fiasco with Rogelio’s mother, but they keep hitting speed bumps. Michael and Andie also encounter a big issue in their newly restarted relationship.

Jane convinces Rafael to go through couples’ therapy

Jane has gone through everything in her head. She has prayed to God and now she is trying to find any other way to fix her relationship with Rafael. She talks to him but he remains convinced that the two of them are just too different to make things work.

With the help of a co-worker, Jane finds out about Rafael’s mother and her short visit to the Marbella. Jane immediately concludes that this has something to do with Rafael’s behaviour. She confronts him and he denies that his mother’s reappearance has anything to do with his decision to break up. Nevertheless, Jane manages to convince him to go into couples’ therapy. While there, Rafael shows an unwillingness to fix their relationship but Jane is persistent.

Lina throws Jane a baby shower

After their therapy session, Jane heads to a baby shower that was prepared for her by her close friend and co-worker Lina. Everything goes well until Rafael shows up for the finale. Lina puts them through a short game that unfortunately highlights how little they know about each other. On the upside, the game reminds Rafael how much he loves Jane. He decides to give their relationship another shot.

Andie is forced to come clean to Michael

Meanwhile, Andie shows up at the baby shower along with Jane’s other friends from the writer’s workshop. Jane confronts Andie about stalking her and Michael. Andie apologises and realises that she needs to come clean to Michael. Once she does, Michael is furious and tells her that he can’t get over what she did to manipulate the situation to her favour. He breaks up with her shortly after learning that Rafael had also broken up with Jane again.

Rafael makes the decision to end the relationship again after returning to the therapist alone. He concludes that he’s in a very dark place in his life and he does not want to drag Jane into it. He feels that he could be destructive to her because he almost tempted her into losing her virginity. Jane ends up even more devastated than the first time that he decided to break things off.

Speaking of break-ups, Xiomara and Rogelio go in the same direction after Xiomara admits that she kissed her former flame Marco. The incident happened after she and Rogelio had a falling out due to his mother’s disapproval o their relationship. Xiomara feels guilty and comes clean. Unfortunately, Rogelio is not in a forgiving mood and breaks up with her.

Petra escapes from Roman

Elsewhere, Petra is still being held in captivity by Roman Zazo who has been pretending to be his brother Aaron. Petra tries to gain his trust so that she could plan her escape. When she finds an opportunity, she places a call to Michael, who has been looking for her. Unfortunately, Roman wakes up and he chases her into the woods. When he catches up with her, she stabs him to protect herself. Michael and his partner arrive and rescue Petra. They also manage to find a flash drive containing a list of associates linked to Sin Rostro and Roman’s drug operations. Michael is devastated to find out that his partner Nadine had been working for Sin Rostro all along.

Alba remembers her fall

Meanwhile, Jane asks her grandmother to pick her up from the hotel after receiving the bad news from Rafael. As she gets in the car, Alba spots Petra and her mother by the hotel entrance. Alba suddenly remembers her fall and Petra's mother who happens to be the woman who pushed her down the stairwell. What she does with this information will be revealed when “Jane The Virgin” returns on Monday at 9 p.m. on The CW.
