'Jane The Virgin' Season 2 update: 'Scream Queens' star Diego Boneta joins cast
“Scream Queens” star Diego Boneta will be joining the cast of “Jane The Virgin” Season 2. With Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) currently at odds with both Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) and Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni), could Boneta’s character be a potential new love interest? [Spoiler Alert!]
According to TV Line, Boneta will be joining the Season 2 cast as Dax. He is described as a ”genius techie and hipster skateboarder who takes a look at Jane’s computer and ends up surprising her — in more ways than one.”
Jane’s character spends a lot of time in her computer as a grad school student and an aspiring writer. If she and Dax bond over her computer, could he possibly present himself as a possible new love interest?
With half the season nearly over, Jane’s relationship with at least one of the men in her life needs to progress quickly, if she will be finding herself walking down the aisle at the end of the season. Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman confirmed at the start of Season 2 that Jane will be getting married this season, but she didn’t reveal the identity of Jane’s groom.
It has been team Michael vs. team Rafael right from Season 1 of the show. Jane has been going back and forth between the two, but at the moment, neither one of them is in her good graces. She and Michael had a falling out after Michael started a physical altercation with Rafael in front of her and baby Mateo. The ensuing violence caused Mateo to be injured, as he was hit by a shard of broken glass.
Rafael was able to ease his way closer to Jane after Michael was booted out of the picture. However, unfortunately for him, Jane found out that he schemed against Michael and got him fired from his job. She was shocked at the betrayal and sinister move.
With Dax coming into the picture, it remains to be seen if he will worm his way into her heart or if he will help push her back to one of her former loves.
“Jane The Virgin “ airs every Monday at 9 pm ET on The CW.
