Jennifer Aniston’s husband on Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt split: ‘there are bigger things to b**** about’
Justin Theroux is fed up with reports dragging Jennifer Aniston’s name on the running story about Brad Pitt’s marital problems with Angelina Jolie. While Aniston kept her reaction to herself, Theroux finally broke his silence about the controversy.
The 45-year-old actor-screenwriter assailed media for blowing the issue of the Brangelina split out of proportion and dragging Aniston’s name in the process. Pitt divorced Aniston in 2005 before publicly admitting his romantic relationship with Jolie, whom he met while filming “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” a year earlier.
While Pitt finally married Jolie in August 2014 after 10 years of romance, Aniston wed Theroux in August 2015 after dating him since 2011.
"There's an endless appetite for trash, apparently, though everyone would say that they don't have that appetite," Theroux told the Business Insider.
"But I think a lot of people do because people buy it. But there are bigger things to b---- about. It's shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world."
The star in the upcoming film “The Girl on the Train,” however, felt sorry for the six Jolie-Pitt children, physical custody of whom are now up to the courts to decide. (Read: Angelina Jolie pulls the plug on Brangelina, files for divorce from Brad Pitt)
"As a child of divorce, all I can say is that's terrible news for those children, and that's all you can really say," Theroux said, referring to 15-year-old Maddox, 12-year-old Pax, 11-year-old Zahara, 10-year-old Shiloh, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Named as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Goodwill Ambassador in 2011, Jolie physically separated from Pitt on Sep. 15. The “Maleficent” star cited “irreconcilable difference” as her reason in filing for divorce from the “World War Z” actor.
Aside from settling the divorce, Pitt is under investigation for alleged physical and verbal child abuse. (Read: Brad Pitt's midair clash with son Maddox sparks divorce, FBI investigates actor's alleged child abuse)
Following the filing of the Jolie-Pitt divorce papers on Sep. 19, Jennifer Aniston memes went trending and viral on social media.
"It's boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time — that's horrible,” Theroux pointed out, adding that dragging Aniston in the issue is pure “nonsense.”
