Jennifer Hudson Joins ‘American Idol 2015’ Top 12 Announcement As Lullaby Mom’s Whitney Houston Cover Goes Viral
“American Idol 2015” is set to exhibit the performances of its top 12 on its telecast on March 12, Thursday, from its remaining top 16. Similar to the previous season, the final 12 will be performing the song they covered during their auditions.
On March 11, Wednesday, Ryan Seacrest will reveal top five guys and top five girls based on public votes. Judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. will then pick two more Wild Card contestants to complete the top 12 finalists.
One of the show’s most successful alum, Jennifer Hudson, will also visit the show during the top 12 announcement. Hudson finished seventh during the third season, which was won by Fantasia Barrino, but she went on to become an Oscar-winning recording artist.
Meanwhile, YouTube sensation Kimberly Henderson famously known as Lullaby Mom has recently spoken about her not being able to make it to “American Idol” after auditioning three times.
“They have good things to say,” Henderson told WGN. “They just said, ‘You have a really unique voice, we think you’re good, but it’s just not your time yet,'” she said. “So I’m guessing maybe now it’s my time.”
Since its publication on YouTube on Dec. 8, 2014, Henderson’s video featuring herself singing the late Whitney Houston’s “How Will I Know” while carrying her little daughter has been viewed almost three million times. Watch the video here:
