Jeremy Lin has been hot for the past couple of games for the Houston Rockets. With star shooting guard James Harden dealing with an injury, the former Harvard hotshots showed everybody what he's capable of when given enough playing time, and more importantly, possession of the ball.

Coming off perhaps the most productive two-game stretch offensively since joining the Rockets, Lin heads to New York City on Thursday with everybody anticipating the return of Linsanity at Madison Square Garden.

Indeed, there's no better time in the regular-season than to jack up his points production ahead of the Rockets' showdown with the Knicks. Besides, with Lin catching fire again and the Knicks looking for answers early this season, Linsanity is bound for a boisterous comeback at the Garden.

Jeremy is Waxing Hot

After just recording six points and seven assists in a 107-94 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers last Sunday, Lin has been on attack mode ever since.

He started his scoring spree with a 31-point explosion in the Rockets 110-104 double overtime win over the Toronto Raptors. In the game, Lin proved that he can do damage at the shooting guard spot while Harden shook off his foot injury and dished out 10 assists as the team's main facilitator.

In the next game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Lin started at the point guard role with Patrick Beverley taking the shooting guard spot as Harden took an off to address his injury. With the ball in his hands throughout the ballgame, Lin dissected the Sixers' defense to perfection, recording 34 points and 12 assists in a 123-117 overtime loss.

Setting aside the Rockets late-game collapse, Lin proved that he can run the team's offense efficiently, and at the same time, inflict damage as a potent scorer.

In fact, Lin is shooting a torrid 20-for-36 from the floor (55 percent field goal shooting) and a phenomenal 12-for-21 from beyond the arc. Lin knocked down a career high nine three-point shots in the game against the Sixers, showing that he has indeed improved his shooting stroke.

Showdown with the Knicks

With Harden likely a game-time decision, Lin will have another chance to pad up his numbers when the Rockets game against the Knicks.

Playing against team loaded with weapons, the Rockets guard planned to put up a better performance not only on the offensive end, but in defense as well.

"It was my worst defensive game of the season. Tomorrow has to be my best defensive game of the season," Lin told ESPN after allowing Philadelphia's starting backcourt to score a combined 54 points."

The Knicks boasts an array of offensive weapons with perennial All-Star Carmelo Anthony leading the charge. However, New York hasn't found the right chemistry yet as they started the season below expectation at 3-4.

On Thursday, Lin is out to shine one more time in the Mecca of basketball. With the ball on his hand, Linsanity will be unstoppable.
