Jeremy Lin Calls Out Teammates, Wants More Team Effort From The Los Angeles Lakers
Thanks to a Harvard University degree, Jeremy Lin is known as one of the more eloquent and articulate players in the National Basketball Association (NBA). But no thanks to the a trying Los Angeles Lakers’ 2014-2015 NBA Season so far, even the Asian-American player is lost for words in explaining how and why is the Hollywood squad struggling in this campaign.
Jeremy Lin’s interview came after the one-sided and embarrassing 136-115 loss to the Warriors on Sunday. The final score did not reflect the actual blowout as the lead reach as much as 38 points early in the fourth quarter. Lin finished with 0 points on 0-of-2 shooting in 22 minutes on the floor.
A reporter asked Jeremy Lin about his focus on the upcoming game against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday after the one of the Lakers’ worst losses in the season. Jeremy Lin tried to answer but he just couldn’t find the right words as a response.

In the interview, Jeremy Lin was asked about if he should attack more and generally be more aggressive. Lin countered that it should be a team effort and that it’s the wrong mindset to worry about his own stats or style as that’s detrimental to the team. Despite struggling for words, Lin did send his message across; the Lakers need more “communication, trust and effort” on both ends of the floor.
The Lakers are struggling big time especially on the defensive end. They are last in the league in points per game allowed giving up 112.1 PPG. Los Angeles is also the second worst squad in the league in points differential (-10.5) ahead of the tanking Philadelphia 76ers (-16.0).
The Lakers started the season with five straight losses before winning at home against the Charlotte Hornets. Los Angeles is again working on a long losing streak with a four-game skid since Tuesday. The bad news do not stop there too as the Lakers face the Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks all on the road in their next three games.
Jeremy Lin has averaged respectable numbers so far this season. The 26-year-old point guard is fourth in the team in scoring (11.7 PPG) and first in assists per game (4.4). So far this season, the Los Angeles Lakers own a 1-9 win-loss record-- the worst mark in the Western Conference.
