Jeremy Renner: 'Avengers' Actor Not 'Clawing' To Do A Solo 'Hawkeye' Film, Hints Return Of Marvel Superhero In 'Captain America 3'
"Avengers" actor Jeremy Renner talked about the future of his Marvel superhero character, Hawkeye, in a recent interview. It looks like the Hawkeye fans will not be seeing the Marvel character in a solo movie but he may continue appearing as a supporting character in the solo films of other "Avengers" members like Captain America.
When asked about a solo "Hawkeye" movie, the 43-year-old actor revealed in a recent MTV News interview that he is not really "clawing" to do one at the moment. "I'm happy to be the ensemble. I'm not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means. I think he's a utility guy that can bounce around into other people's universes a little bit, especially like 'Cap 3'," Renner stated.
The actor's tease became more interesting when he winked twice. "There's whispers of that, so who knows," Renner further added. An MTV News report noted down that Hawkeye's appearance in the "Captain America 3" film became a hot topic and it looks like actor Jeremy Renner is more than aware of the ongoing discussion about the Marvel character. At the moment, Jeremy Renner will be busy balancing work, his married life and fatherhood. The actor spoke about his married status in a People report where he claimed privacy is a top priority when it comes to protecting his wife, Sonni Pacheco, and his 17-month-old daughter, Ava.
"I have tried to protect my family's privacy, my wife's privacy. I don't need her to get hammered with my life," Renner shared while at the screening of his latest film titled "Kill the Messenger" in Washington, D.C. However, a busy filming schedule will keep Jeremy Renner apart from his family as he works on his movie projects that include "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Mission Impossible 5" as well as an upcoming Bourne film and sequel to the "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" movie.
Fans can watch actor Jeremy Renner in the film titled "Kill the Messenger" which is scheduled to hit movie theaters on Friday, Oct. 10. The actor will be reprising his Clint Barton or Hawkeye role in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" which will premiere on May 1, 2015 while the "Captain America 3" film, where he hinted Hawkeye could appear, is currently set to come out on May 6, 2016.
