Matthew McConaughey Commercial: Ellen DeGeneres Spoofs 'True Detective' Actor's Lincoln Car Commercial [WATCH VIDEO]
Ellen DeGeneres succeeded in turning a serious car commercial into something hilarious on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last Monday, Sept. 22. The 56-year-old TV host spoofed the new Lincoln MKC car commercial of "True Detective" actor Matthew McConaughey where she just sat at the back and put on her comedic performance.
"You may have seen the star's new car commercial, but you might not have realized who originally starred in it with him," TheEllenShow posted as a description to the shared video on YouTube. In the video, Ellen DeGeneres initially showed the audience Matthew McConaughey's car commercial where the actor was talking to a bull that blocked his path.
According to DeGeneres, her biggest question on the car commercial is why she got cut out. The TV host then showed the video of the Lincoln car commercial with her in it and the audience laughed at her comments.
The funny video kicks off with the "True Detective" star wondering what he should do with the bull blocking the road. "Maybe we should ask him to moo-ve. Moo-ve it along," DeGeneres suggested after declaring that the stuff Matthew placed in her brownies made it more delicious.
After throwing a couple more jokes on the bull blocking the road, the comedienne shifted her attention to the hand of the 44-year-old actor particularly with what he is doing with his fingers. Ellen DeGeneres wondered if Matthew McConaughey needed wet wipes.
Then, Ellen DeGeneres stated that they should get going because she does not want to be late for dinner. Before driving off, the comedienne decided to change the weird music background to the DJ Snake and Lil Jon single titled "Turn Down for What." Have a look below at the hilarious video with currently over 500,000 YouTube views.
According to a Detroit Free Press report, Matthew McConaughey will be appearing as the new celebrity spokesman of Lincoln in a number of advertising campaigns. The "Magic Mike" actor shared in a news release that authenticity is what made him agree to be the new face of Lincoln.
McConaughey further added that Lincoln appreciated him as an individual from the start and that will allow him to just be himself during this collaboration with the car company. Lincoln global director Matt VanDyke described the Academy Award-winning actor as a "natural fit" and "ideal personality" in telling the story of where the company is going as a brand.
