J.J. Abrams Comments On 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Spoilers, Says Some Speculations Are True
There seems to be no end to the release of spoilers and rumoured plot details for “Star Wars: the Force Awakens” ahead of its theatrical release on Dec. 18, 2015. However, despite the secrecy involved in the movie production, movie director J.J. Abrams admits he is not bothered at all by these reports on spoilers. In fact, he says he considers it as a fan’s way of showing interest and excitement over the much-anticipated film.
J.J. Abrams recently addressed the current state of the rumours when he hosted the Oscar Wilde Awards held in Los Angeles on Thursday, Feb. 19. In an interview with BBC News, the movie director admitted his “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” crew did all they can “to preserve the story for the audience.” However, he admitted that all their efforts don’t always work and that some rumours and spoilers released for the movie are also true. “There are a ton of rumours - some true, some false,” he said.
However, J.J. Abrams admitted he is not bothered by the release of these possible storyline or plot details for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Instead, he said he is “very grateful for everyone who would want to read a spoiler because it means that they care and want to see the movie.” The movie director added he knows and understands what if must feel like for any “enormous Star Wars fan” like himself to be excited for the movie and thus would go after these rumours to satisfy their curiosity.
According to Star Wars Underworld, J.J. Abrams is not even complaining about all the leaked photos and plot details for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Writer Dominic Jones said the director somehow understands the desire felt by any “Star Wars” fan to get more information regarding the blockbuster movie.
During his BBC News interview, J.J. Abrams also gave a brief update on the post-production state of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The director admitted he has an incredible post-production team working on the movie. He added there were challenges faced along the way. However, he said it was a “complete kick” to finally finish the movie, which he himself is excited to show to everyone.
