John Cena and Brock Lesnar To Meet One Last Time At Royal Rumble 2015
Some fans may already be getting tired of seeing John Cena and Brock Lesnar in hogging the limelight for two straight pay-per-events. First, the Beast Incarnate came away with a dominating performance at Summer Slam. Cena was on his way to upset Lesnar at Night of Champions only for Seth Rollins to steal the show as he attempted to cash in his money in the bank briefcase. Now, the WWE must be creative to make the third show interesting at Royal Rumble in January 2015.
Initial reports have said that Lesnar and Cena will settle their story in Hell in Cell at month's end but Lesnar will be unavailable for any televised appearance until 2015. As relayed by Wrestling Rumors, the match is a set up for bigger headlines for Wrestlemania 31. It is unclear if Lesnar will be able to retain the belt past Rumble, more so after during Wrestlemania 31, when his contract with the WWE ends. Cena, on the other hand, is being pitted next against Russian Ruslev which is just apt considering that the leader of Cenation is the poster boy of patriotism.
Given there may be fatigue over the way the storyline between Cena and Lesnar has been developed, Royal Rumble may be the perfect opportunity to put closure to the trilogy given that the fight will not carry the whole night, instead attention will be all showered upon the main event, the rumble between 40 able bodies. Many speculations are surfacing in the internet the past few days that Roman Reigns will be finally healthy by that date to capture the win at Royal Rumble
Despite his recovery from an emergency procedure, Reigns is still built up by the organization as the next big thing. The plan is for Lesnar to beat Cena one last time at Royal Rumble while Reigns captures the 40-man battle at Wells Fargo Arena, bestowing upon him the opportunity to challenge for the world heavyweight championship in Wrestlemania 31. And as a passing of the baton, Reigns will upset Lesnar, leading to his exit from the WWE. Lesnar is rumoured to be considering a return to the UFC or retire entirely.
