The famous TV personality and band leader was recently presented the coveted award by no less than Prince Charles, calling Holland a "full blown national treasure" due to his unwavering contribution to music and culture.

The "Later...With Jools Holland" host was recently given the desirable award on Nov.8 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Although the Prince of Wales was not able to attend the event, his presence was seen through a live broadcast from Africa, where the Royal is currently situated.

"As you now know there has been a long-running plot to promote you to the position of a full blown national treasure. You are the very embodiment of that rare species and so many people's lives have been enhanced not only by your irresistible music but also by your wonderful humanity." claimed Prince Charles in the streamed appearance.

A skilled pianist, Holland is famous for leading his blues band and hosting the famous late night BBC music show "Later... With Jools Holland," where many acts and bands made their television debuts and became massive superstars after the exposure. One of these artists is KT Tunstall, whose solo performance wowed the audience with her skillful use of looping and layering to mimic the sound of a complete band.

"30 years of television, 25 of big band and probably 40 years since first playing the pubs...that's why I'm delighted to receive this, with all of those in mind. But I think this Award also helps to celebrate and draw people's attention to Nordoff Robbins and the BRIT School, so it's more about them than it is about me" said Holland upon receiving the award.

Other famous acts who appeared on Holland's show are Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Blur, Erykah Badu, Massive Attack, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Oasis, Bon Iver, and Adele.
