Jose Mourinho Admits He Liked Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria
Jose Mourinho dismissed a question on Angel di Maria during his recent press conference saying that he does not want to talk about players from other clubs. However, inevitably, the Chelsea manager did speak about di Maria.
While manager of the Spanish side, Mourinho signed di Maria for Real Madrid and on Sunday, he will come up against his former charge when Chelsea travels to face the Manchester United with di Maria. The 26-year-old di Maria moved to Manchester United for a whopping 60 million pounds transfer fee.
“Don’t ask me about players from other teams. I don’t want to speak,” insisted Mourinho when grilled about di Maria, before saying that his relationships with opponents will be but to one side during the course of the game. “If I bought Angel Di Maria it was because I liked him. If he was fantastic at Real Madrid for me, good. Now he plays for Man United.” The Chelsea manager further claimed that he had very good memories but for the 90 minutes in the game, he wants to win.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho sent West Ham manager Sam Allardyce a text, after leading his squad to a 2-1 victory against Manchester City. The Chelsea manager sent him a congratulatory text according to the Mirror. On Saturday, Allardyce claimed that Mourinho texted him to say “well done big man,” which reveals how important it was for him. He further added that Mourinho is set to face the Manchester United and his club will perform its best and if they win, the gap gets even bigger. Allardyce reiterated that the victory was not for him, rather it was for them and everyone at West Ham.
Manchester City is currently in the fourth place and this recent victory is far better than their 3-1 victory against Liverpool last month. On the other hand, Chelsea will move eight points ahead of the Manchester City if it beats the Manchester United at Old Trafford in an upcoming match on Sunday. For whatever its worth, Jose Mourinho previously accused Sam Allardyce that he is playing 19th century football last season.
