Joseph Gordon-Levitt Makles Sundance Fans Swoon with 'Hey Jude' [VIDEO]
Swoon-worthy Joseph Gordon-Levitt performed onstage at the Sundance Film Festival. His performance was a stellar take on the Beatles classic, "Hey Jude." Once again, he proves he's not only a great actor but an even more awesome singer.
Truly a "hitRECordJoe" as he is called on social networking sites, Twitter and Tumblr, the 30-year-old actor is a far cry from his earlier stints on "Third Rock From the Sun." Though it isn't the first time Joseph Gordon-Levitt has strummed it out on stage.
The "500 Days of Summer" star strummed and swooned YouTube audiences alongside his co-star, Zooey Deschanel, on their rendition of the 1947 Nancy Wilson song, "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"
The video was a hit itself and it also caused a lot of hype about the two collaborating once again on another film. Though the video was merely Deschanel's way of greeting her fans a "Happy New Year." The actress fondly shares her memories of filming on the set of "500 Days of Summer" and how well she got along with Levitt.
"I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called 'Manic,' where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone' and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since.
"When we did 500 Days of Summer 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and makeup trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he's simply the best," shared Deschanel.
As for Joseph Gordon-Levitt's other hit, it included not only his ability to strum and sing but his sarcastic sense of humor, "Get Money, Turn Gay." The political satire was a collaboration of Levitt's HitRecord Website with the Gregory Brothers of which was mainly composed of singing about ridiculous moments in politics. It's not hard to dance along to it too.
So when JGL once again took to the stage at the Sundance Film Festival, a lot of fans already had their own recorders at the go. Of course, they were prepared as Levitt managed to tweet all about his performance on Twitter.
"We're streaming our show LIVE from #Sundance! 9:45 PM MST TONIGHT -- See you there! :oD," tweeted Joseph. His performance was not only a hit that night but is continuing to be a hit all over the Web with the video already uploaded on YouTube and with more than 100,000 hits already.
Hollywood has definitely got its eye out for Levitt. With five films coming out this year, fans are not only expecting to see more of his awesome acting but hoping he performs on stage once again.
