Josh Grispi denied allegations that he has been hitting his wife during an interview on "Dr. Phil." On Thursday's episode of the show, Grispi also agreed that hitting a woman under any circumstance is inappropriate.

The former UFC fighter spoke by telephone from jail to address the charges of an alleged assault on his wife in August. His wife, Kaitlyn, and his mother-in-law, Karen, appeared in the show following the allegations that she was hit by the professional fighter on two separate occasions over a single weekend. Thus far, Grispi is awaiting trial on drug possession, animal cruelty, assault and battery but was unable to divulge the details of his cases because the case remains open.

"Me and my wife have known each other for our whole lives," Grispi said. "We've been dating since we were 13. Maybe we got too comfortable." Allegedly, Grispi assaulted his wife twice in four days and commanded his dog to attack her too. "It's the worst case of domestic abuse I've ever seen," police officer Richard Harvey told the Taunton Daily Gazette.

According to the police, they discovered a pot farm, ammunition and weapons upon searching Grispi's home. Further reports claim that a number of threatening text messages was sent by Grispi to his wife.

Although Kaitlyn admitted that he was hit by Josh, she stood up for her husband saying that he is a great father and husband, and the police is trying to blow out of a proportion a family fight because Josh is with the UFC. She further claimed that the first incident that they got physical; it was her fault because she pushed Josh into getting really angry where she ended up with a bloody lip and a black eye. Despite the incident, Kaitlyn stands by her husband and she has no plans of divorce.

At the show, Kaitlyn claimed that their house was haunted, which has been causing her husband's behaviour. Before the show ended, Kaitlyn emotionally accepted Phil McGraw's offer to pay for professional help for her and her husband.
