Just like Scofield’s escape plan tattoo, 'Prison Break' Season 5 puzzles are falling into place
There is good news for all “Prison Break” fans. It has been revealed that “Prison Break” Season 5 may air sooner than expected. The buzz is that the show may be shifted to September 2016. There may be an alteration in the episode run times just to compensate the delay in filming. The delay was due to scheduling issues with the lead actors.
According to The Bitbag, “Prison Break” may return this year and not early 2017 as was earlier expected. Fox has also added new characters such as Rick Yune of “Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift” fame, Augustus Prew from “The Borgias” and Steve Mouzakis of “I, Frankenstein” fame.
Prew will be playing a character named Whip. He is described as very sharp, funny and crazy. Yune will portray the character of Ja, a genius Korean identity thief whose appearance is baffling. Mouzakis will play Van Gogh, who is a bad-a-- nut-job.
Up to now, six of the stars from the original series have confirmed. They are Dominic Purcell as Lincoln Burrows, Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield, Sarah Wayne Callies as Dr. Sara Tancredi, Amaury Nolasco as Fernando Sucre, Rockmond Dunbar as Benjamin Miles “C-Note” Franklin and Robert Knepper as Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell.
Variety has confirmed the return of Paul Adelstein as Paul Kellerman. He appeared in all the four seasons of “Prison Break.” After the Fox drama ended in 2009, Adelstein appeared in a recurring role on “Scandal” and also starred in “Private Practice.” He is currently seen in “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce” opposite Lisa Edelstein.
[Spoiler Alert] The new season, consisting of nine episodes, will pick up after clues emerge that Scofield may be alive, even though it was implied that he was dead when the previous season ended.
This will make Dr. Sara Tancredi reunite with Scofield’s brother Lincoln to engineer the greatest escape ever. The escape will somehow pull back Fox River State Penitentiary’s escaped convicts T-Bag, C-Note and Sucre; and now Kellerman.
Tancredi however, will be first seen settled with new husband Scott Ness (Mark Feurstein). Tensions may appear between the two after Tancredi realises Scofield is alive. Details of how Scofield returns from the dead have been kept under wraps and nobody knows how he will deal with his brain tumour.
Fans are hoping to see “Prison Break” return this year.
