Justin Bieber on his relationship with Selena Gomez: ‘We were all about each other’
Pop star Justin Bieber has finally broken his silence over his relationship with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, months after parting ways with her in 2014. Bieber’s infamous on-and-off relationship with Gomez was covered extensively by the media. They were even referred to as “Jelena.”
Reminiscing about the time he spent with Gomez, Bieber told Complex Magazine that “Nothing else mattered. We were all about each other.”
“My identity was in her. Her identity was in me. When stuff would happen, I would lose my freakin’ mind, and she would lose her mind, and we would fight so hard because we were so invested in each other,” Bieber revealed in the Complex Magazine interview.
Justin and Selena started dating in 2011. However, the news of their split poured in at regular intervals until the pair finally decided to part ways for good in 2014. Gomez’s gloomy performance of “The Heart Wants What It Wants” at the American Music Awards (AMAs) in 2014 hinted that the couple was headed for a bitter split.
Justin admitted that when he dates other girls now, he can’t help but compare them to Selena. He also said that he’s “kind of seeing” someone right now who is different from his ex. He reportedly feels more at ease with this new girl because she doesn't freak out when he says or does certain things. Bieber didn’t reveal the name of the girl. But he is currently being linked to Russian model Xenia Deli. Deli is the girl in the music video of Justin’s new single “What Do You Mean.”
He also talked about how he has changed since his debut in the music industry. Bieber said that he is now concerned about different things in his life and is focused towards giving his best and winning. The singer briefly mentioned his friendship with Floyd Mayweather.
Bieber gave a deeper insight about the times when he felt invincible in the past. He said that there was a period in his life when he was involved with so many things. But he wouldn’t take anything back because he thinks his journey has been an awesome learning experience so far.
