Justin Bieber is close to losing his spot in the music business come 2013 all thanks to the popular boy band, One Direction.

What has Bieber got planned underneath his sleeves? Well, to beat a British, one has to be a British. Bieber is doing exactly that by recruiting Ed Sheeran for his upcoming acoustic album.

Everything and anything that British singer, Ed Sheeran manages to touch becomes golden. "Directioners" may recall Sheeran's hit song, "Little Things" of which he had written that the boys of One Direction had sung. Taylor Swift also recently collaborated with the singer and it only added more sparkle to Swift's singing career. So, Justin Bieber is following suit.

The 18-year old Canadian crooner is set to hit the studio with the ginger kid for his acoustic album. The album is set for a January 29, 2013 release. While Scooter Braun has been quite mum about the details, Braun sure has been active on dropping hints of a said collaboration on social networking sites such as Instagram and Twitter. In fact, Scooter was one of the millions who had retweeted Bieber's Twitter tweet and photo.

"January 2013...spread the word," tweeted Bieber along with the alleged cover photo of the January album.

Afterwards, Braun took to sharing a photo of Ed Sheeran in front of a laptop right after mentioning a lot of artists in the same studio as Bieber. However, as much as fans hope to hear a collaboration from Bieber and Sheeran, Justin had squashed such rumors down anyway.

"I don't think you will [hear a collaboration with One Direction and Swift]," said Bieber in an interview with MTV.

"I hope not anyway, 'cause we all do such different things. I find that collaborations sometimes are overly forced and they're not supposed to work. You should only collaborate if a collaboration makes sense."

Well, FYI Justin Bieber, collaborations always make sense especially if paired off with a talented songwriter and singer, Ed Sheeran. If anything, Bieber should be the one impressed and humbled by Sheeran and not the other way around.
