Although the lawsuit was dropped, Justin Bieber decided to take steps to prove that the paternity allegations were false.

After he promised that he will take a DNA test to prove that the accusations against him were not true, the young singer held on to his words even after the lawsuit was discharged.

According to reports from TMZ, the "Baby" singer took a test last Friday in a laboratory in New Jersey. Sources say that the test taken was put under very controlled circumstances. Their next move would be on Mariah Yeater, the woman who claims that Bieber fathered her child.

Bieber and his team stood by their plea that Justin is not the father of the 3-month-old child Tristyn. When MTV caught up with the young singer last week, Thursday, he dismissed talking about the controversy; instead he said that he has been doing great these past few days.

When he sat down for an interview in a NYC radio station Z100 the singer jokingly said that he would prefer a rumor about him running away to South America with a supermodel.

"Right now, I'm focusing on my album and the music and the [Pencils of Promise] charity we're doing and just being positive, because Christmas time is a time for joy and happiness, so that's what I'm thinking," the famous singer said.

"And as far as the whole baby situation, it's unfortunate that it had to happen like that. People make false accusations, but things happen in this industry and you have to keep your head high and be positive." added the pop star.
