The Kardashian Family Heads Off To Armenia For The First Time To Pay Homage To Their Armenian Heritage
The Kardashian family headed off to Armenia for the first time to pay homage to their Armenian heritage. Kim Kardashian took her husband Kanye West and their child North West with her to the trip. Their eight-day visit to Armenia will be documented for the family’s reality TV show, "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."
Kanye West arrived at LAX last Tuesday with his wife Kim Kardashian while carrying their daughter North West. Us Weekly confirms that the entire clan is also part of the trip except for Kendall Jenner. The Kardashian family chose this time to visit Armenia for the first time in order to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey as it marks its 100th anniversary. For this purpose, the family will be visiting Tsitsrenakaberd Memorial.
The family is expected to arrive in Armenia on April 8, Wednesday. No official meetings or press conferences were planned as the family hopes to learn about their heritage. "They're really proud of their heritage and want to spend quality time there," a source says. "Armenia is their big trip of the season." A family insider also revealed that "visiting Armenia has been on Kim's bucket list forever.”
Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian are the children of the late Robert Kardashian who was a third generation Armenian-American. In fact, back in 2011, Kim Kardashian landed the cover for the first ever Armenian Cosmopolitan. "My Armenian heritage means a lot to me and I've been brought up to be incredibly proud of my family's background and culture so as an Armenian-American woman it is a huge honor for me to be on the first ever Armenian Cosmopolitan cover,” Kim said.
Apart from the Kardashian family, other notable people who are also expected to head off to Armenia to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian mass slaughter includes George Clooney, with his wife Amal and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
