Kate Middleton Met Prince William Before St Andrews University, According To New Book [PHOTOS/VIDEOS]

As we all know, the couple of the century, charming Prince William and the gorgeous Kate Middleton, met at St. Andrews in 2001. After almost a decade-long relationship, they married on April 29, 2011. Or so we've been told.

Every little girl dreams of marying a handsome prince, becoming a princess or queen, living a luxurious life in a magnificent castle and wearing all the beautiful attires you can dream of. Kate Middleton lived out this fairytale for all the snooping eyes of the world to see when she wed Prince William in a lavish, breathtaking and televised ceremony.

Kate rose from being a commoner to royalty. The two met and fell in love during their days at St. Andrews. However, there were speculations that Kate's presence at the same university as William was not a coincidence at all.

A new book titled "Kate: The Future Queen" written by royal editor at the Daily Mail Katie Nicholl spilled the beans on the real story of how Kate met William. According to the new book, Kate Middleton was already close to Prince William even before their St. Andrew days. She met him through a school friend from Marlborough College. In fact, Kate Middleton met Prince William in 1999 at his father Prince Charles' Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire.

"We all knew as teachers that that year group was moving in Royal circles, that they were friends," revealed Anne Patching, Kate's house-mistress, according to extracts from the book. Anne Patching also added that Kate's unexpected change came as a surprise to those at her school.

"Kate's firm choice was Edinburgh and that was confirmed," said Jasper Selwyn, careers advisor at Marlborough College.

Kate changed her option of university from Edinburgh to St. Andrews after Prince William's school choice was made public. She decided to go to St. Andrews even though she already secured the grades needed to enter Edinburgh. She took a gap year like the prince and reapplied at St. Andrews to get into the same course as William.

Kate Middleton and Prince William eventually got together and married after a 10-year romance. On April 29, 2011, Prince William and Kate Middleton's fairy tale wedding was watched by 2 billion and celebrated around the globe.

On July 22, 2013, the royal couple welcomed their son, Prince George of Cambridge (George Alexander Louis).

It seemed that the entire globe was captivated by this royal romance.
