Kate Middleton's Two Favorite Brands : Banana Republic And Issa Collaboration [Photos/Videos]
The Kate effect continues. Whenever Kate Middleton wears something, we want it (like, now).
From that rare tartan coat to her go-to L.K. Bennett pumps to that gorgeous polka dot Jenny Packham dress she wore when she presented Prince George to the world (bad news: it was one of a kind), it seemed like whenever the Duchess steps out wearing something, it sells out almost instantly.
While Kate was in the public eye for years as Prince William's girlfriend, the Kate effect really picked up when the couple announced their engagement last 2010. During the public announcement, Kate wore a gorgeous sapphire blue wrap dress by British brand Issa. The "little blue dress" sparked such a frenzy that it sold out nearly everywhere within 24 hours and almost caused the brand to go under.
Fast forward to 2013 and the wrap dress is still selling out. And even if you can get your hands on it, it costs a pretty penny, retailing for around $600.
As soon as we heard that Kate Middleton-favourite brand Issa London was collaborating with Banana Republic, we couldn't wait to share the good news.
Luckily, there's still hope for us who want to steal Kate's look without breaking the bank. Last April, Banana Republic announced a collaboration with Issa. Images of the collection were just released, and there's a dress that looks almost identical to Kate's engagement dress.
Items in the collection range from $69.50 to $150.00 and are available at select Banana Republic locations worldwide and online starting Aug. 8. But hurry! We doubt they'll be on shelves for very long.
Banana republic posted a video on YouTube.
In this video, Banana Republic's Creative Director Simon Kneen highlighted the sophisticated style and silhouette of the royal's famous blue engagement dress, which just so happens to be figure-flattering for every woman. He explained the brilliant details, the forgiving fabrication and the gorgeous shade of blue that will complement any skin tone, too.
Oh, and best of all? The re-created chic wrap dress is only $130!
Ladies, this is one fabulous fashion collaboration you won't want to miss.
Aside from any Kate Middleton obsessions, you should be excited because:
Ø Issa's BR dresses will top out at $150, instead of starting at $350.
Ø The silhouettes and patterns are inspired by BR's safari heritage.
Ø Over 40 pieces will be available.
Ø We all want to look as elegant as Kate!
Are you as excited for this collection? Might be the right impetus to get some BR back in your wardrobe!
