To celebrate her Super Bowl half-time performance, Perry got herself inked with the Roman numerals “XLIX.” The singer can be seen in the process of getting the tattoo in one of the two latest Instagram uploads.
“I thought it would be appropriate to draw blood tonight... XLIX” wrote the star to caption the picture. Perry can be seen sitting in a tattooist's chair, wearing an oversized leopard print faux fur coat. “Today is for this girl,” tweeted the star with a throwback picture of her childhood. “She had the dream, always believed in herself & her worth. Today she is the one smiling (sic).”
Perry performed during the half-time Super Bowl performance on the day when New England Patriots played against Seattle Seahawks. “Roar,” “I Kissed A Girl,” “Teenage Dream” and “Firework” are few of the songs that the singer performed during the event.
Perry entered the field standing on a giant golden robotic lion as she sang her hit track “Roar.” She was also joined by special guests Missy Elliott and Lenny Kravitz. Watch the Super Bowl half-time performance here.
The 49th sporting event was watched by 110 million viewers around the world. Perry’s performance was attended by close to 70,000 people present in the stadium, reports the Daily Mail.
During her 12-minute performance on the University of Phoenix stadium’s field on Sunday, Perry changed four costumes and handled gigantic props to give her best shot. However, the singer was “mocked for everything from her outfit choices to back up dancers and the props,” New York Daily reported.
