The 2012 Grammy Awards is the first ever event that everyone would lay their eyes on another amazing performance by the 'Teenage Dream' star herself Katy Perry, after all the down tone news of her recent divorce with hubby Russell Brand.

The 27-year-old pop star is just one of the many much-awaited performers set to sing at the event to be held in LA on February 12 via CBS at 8 p.m. ET. Perry is also getting ready to perform come February 10 for the MusiCares Person of the Year Ceremony.

This is an event that will pay tribute to the success of Beatles' member Paul McCartney. It will also give way to other classic performers such as Neil Young, Coldplay and Tony Bennett. McCartney, the focus of the tribute, will also sing during the two events.

The last time that Katy Perry was set to perform was for the recently held People's Choice Awards last January 12. But the singer had it cancelled after learning that Russell Brand had filed for divorce.

Even if she was not in the awards show, Perry still sweeped of most of the night's acclaims such as the 'Favorite Female Artist,' 'Favorite TV Guest Star,' 'Favorite Tour Headliner,' Favorite Song of the Year' and' Favorite Music Video' awards.

Several days ago, the singer was also seen at the1 OAK Club held at the Mirage Hotel in Vegas, where she co-hosted an event.

For this year's Grammy Awards ceremony, Perry is set to possibly win two awards for the categories of Best Pop Solo Performance for her song 'Firework' and for the 'Record of the Year' award. Just in case she wins this year, this will be her very first Grammy win even if she has been nominated a lot of times before.
