After a long time, there was finally someone else who took over the number one spot where Adele stayed for a long time at the Billboard's Hot 100, and that is no one else but the blue haired, newly-single pop star, Katy Perry.

'Part of Me' is Katy Perry's newest release and is now her seventh single which gained #1 spot. Perry even made a very controversial performance during the most recent Grammys as she changed the lyrics of her own song to make it sound more particular with her divorce from ex-husband Russell Brand.

However, her record still remains in tie with that of Michael Jackson's record of hitting five number one singles from one album. 'Part of Me' is just a part of her re-released LP.

Katy Perry tweeted her thanksgiving message to everyone who supported her especially the radio stations who kept on playing 'Part of Me.' This goes the same for all the Katycats, or her fans, for endlessly requesting her new song.

For Adele, whom Katy Perry referred to as the boss, for sweeping the most number of awards in the last Grammys, her three hit songs, 'Rolling in the Deep,' 'Set Fire to the Rain,' and 'Someone Like You,' are all still in the top ten. This accomplishment made her the very first female artist to have had three singles in the top 10 list in the entire charts history.

The other past chart toppers of Perry include 'I Kissed a Girl,' 'Teenage Dream,' 'E.T.,' 'Firework,' 'California Gurls,' and 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).'

Other names in music history that has achieved a similar milestone as Perry's include Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, the late Whitney Houston, Eminem, Lady Gaga, and numerous winners from 'American Idol.'
