Kelly Preston on Charlie: “My heart just goes out to him”
Charlie Sheen’s ex-girlfriend, Kelly Preston expresses home for Charlie to find his way back home
Kelly Preston has come out in defense of her ex-fiance Charlie Sheen in an interview at the launching of the Organic Liaison store owned by her friend, Kirstie Alley’s.
Preston was Charlie’s ex-girlfriend and the two almost got married twenty years ago had the former “Two and a Half Men” star not mysteriously shot her in the arm.
"My heart just goes out to him, and all of his family," Preston who married John Travolta instead, told PEOPLE. "He's such a good person underneath all of it, he really is."
Preston had shared to the magazine how Charlie was when the actress was still with him.
"We were together for a year, and he wasn't drinking, and he wasn't doing drugs," Preston, who played Miley Cyrus’s mother in The Last Song said, adding, "And there's a beautiful person in there. He really is a great man."
The actress, whose first prominent role in film was Secret Admirer she appeared in as Deborah Anne Fimple in 1985, said, according to PEOPLE.com, that she hopes his former boyfriend, who was almost her husband, “can find that same happiness, and return from the precipice of self-destruction”.
Preston is happily married with John Travolta and they just welcomed a new member of their family with a baby boy.
"I think there's a way back for anyone," Preston said, according to PEOPLE.com. "I always have hope, and my prayers are with him."
