Kelly Rowland said in a statement that her pal, Beyonce Knowles, will be a "great mother," after the singer revealed her pregnancy during the Video Music Awards.

Rowland is confident that her Destiny's Child pal and childhood best friend Beyonce will do well as a mom. Beyonce surprised the world when she arrived at Sunday's VMA pre-show in a red Lanvin dress with a glowing baby bump.

"I think she'll be an incredible mother, because she's always been motherly," says Rowland in a report posted by I Village. "I think that she takes after so many traits from her mother. And I just think it's going to be so natural for her. It's natural for her now!"

After showing off her baby bump at the pre-show, Beyonce went on to cradle her pregnant stomach after singing "Love on Top" during the VMA's, with husband Jay-Z cheering with rapper Kanye West at the side of the stage. Fellow musicians and rappers are already taking dibs on who's going to be the godmother and godfather of this "royal baby," and Nicki Minaj was quick to take dibs.

"My baby, Beyoncé! I will be the godmother!" says Minaj in a report by MTV's Rapfix.
