Khloe Kardashian suggests putting Vitamin E in your privates for health; Experts say DON'T
An O.B. has said that while Vitamin E oil can be used as a lubricant, the benefits are not exactly how Khloe claims them to be
When it comes to medical advice, a Kardashian might not be the right person to approach. Khloe Kardashian claims that applying Vitamin E generously to the vagina can help strengthen its lining and help with dryness and irritation. Doctors who have heard the superstar’s advice, however, do not fully agree.
A report by Self reveals the opinion of Pari Ghodsi, obstetrician and gynaecologist at the San Fernando Valley at Northridge Hospital in Los Angeles, which basically that while Vitamin E oil can be used as a lubricant, the benefits are not exactly how Khloe claims them to be.
She adds that while it can act as a natural lubricant and moisturizer, applying such to the vagina is unnecessary if one does not suffer from vaginal dryness. Those who could benefit from using it the most could be women who are post menopausal, and who no longer produce the hormones that naturally lubricate their vaginas.
Neal Schultz, M.D. on the other hand, says that while Vitamin E is an excellent topical antioxidant, and there are many forms and strengths, there is a high rate of contact dermatitis from pure Vitamin E on regular skin, such as in the front and outer sides of the vagina. He expects and even higher rate of irritation in the more sensitive parts on the mucous membranes like in the labia minora and the inner vagina. Thus, he recommends not using Vitamin E at all as a lubricant.
Another report by The Hollywood Gossip reveals the opinion of another medical expert, Dr. Jennifer Gunter. She reacts to this advise by saying that she would not recommend it, nor is there any study at all with favourable results for otherwise healthy and premenopausal women. She adds that if one is otherwise young and healthy and happens to have a dry vagina, a doctor should be approached for a silicone-based lubricant.
It is also reported in the same post that the use of Vitamin E can lead to unwanted results such as broken latex condoms, painful and uncomfortable allergies, and when taken in large doses can allegedly end one’s life,
Surely, the Kardashian sisters are not the ones to seek for expert and beauty advice, considering the many bad effects this certain one can result to.
